Maintenance
Restoration:
While bronze has the ability to last for thousands of years maintenance is required to ensure it retains its colour quality and prevent it from weathering. Working alongside established artists estates, foundations and councils bronze art work is restored to ensure the integrity is maintained over the years.
Bronze undergoes continuous change through predictable stages of corrosion or oxidation which can be effected by:
Composition of the bronze and other core materials
Patination or other protective treatments
Exposure to weathering due to rain, sun and wind and other atmospheric pollutants
Location; ie the sea and air pollution like sulphides and other mineral deposits
Accessibility of the public which can cause wear and tear or damage to sculpture
